Have you ever had kale chips? I have not but I had some left over kale so I decided to make some. I thought it would be a fun activity for my daughter and I to do together. She loves helping out and she loves snacking so these are perfect. They did not take long to make at all. Make sure that you wash them good because they felt really gritty. I actually washed them in the sink filled with water. It is really important to make sure they are dry before you pour the mixings over them:) Also, they will shrink so do not tear them to small. In a bowl or a big ziplock bag, Pour 2 TBL's of extra virgin olive oil in the bag or pot. Add 1 tsp of garlic, 1 tsp of thyme, 1 tsp of cumin, dash of pepper and salt. I sprinkled some sesame seeds and romano cheese in the oil mix. You can put as much or as little as you would like. Once the kale is dry, place it in the bag or pot and mix all together. Make sure to coat really well. I sprayed my baking sheet lightly with canola oil and poured the kale. I spread the kale out as much as possible. You can also use parchment paper and place kale on top. Bake for 30 mins or until crispy at 300 degrees. I did not want mine super crisp so I took it out at 30 minutes. Make sure you do not cook any stems. They take longer to cook and they can be bitter. I hope you enjoy. Making kale is a lot of fun. You can get really creative with what you mix with it:)
