Turnips are something I grew up on but I never once thought you could actually eat the root. My mother would have a fit if she knew that we made fries out of a turnip root. The surprising thing is they were good. I love turnip greens but my body does not love all the grease that comes with them. If you are a fry lover like me then you must try these. The best thing is you can add whatever seasoning strikes you fancy. There is no bad way to eat a turnip fry👌 Here is how we made them:
2-3 turnip roots would feed 2 people depending on size
Slice them to look like fries
Take a baking sheet and cover with parchment paper
set oven to 450
In a bowl, add oil of choice to your sliced turnips. We used EVOO.
Sprinkle with parmesan, panko, salt and pepper
coat well and place on baking sheet
cook until golden brown on outside and soft inside, usually 40 mins👌
