Job 1
“Be prepared to let go of anything I take from you, but never let go of My hand!
As I was reading in Job, the Lord says to satan,”Very well, then, everything he has is in your hands, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.” Job 1: 12. Before this encounter, the Lord was telling satan that there was no other man like Job. He is blameless in the eyes of God. Satan told God that if Job had everything taken away from him then he would curse the Lord. God knew Job’s heart so He took everything from Job. He took his land, family, herds and flocks. What did Job do? He praised the Lord. He did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing. Job had a heart for others. He loved his family but most importantly he loved God. The devil is always out roaming this earth. He is trying to intercede between God and us. It is so refreshing to know that He cannot have us. We have God in our hearts and with God the devil has no foothold on us. Reading Job makes me think of the times in my life when I was not in a close relationship with God. I was so easily swayed. I was a follower and not a leader. I made choices that should of destroyed my life. Now, I look back and I see the path I was on has led me to where I am. I can literally say that I was saved by the grace of God. I was on a path of self destruction and only He could save me. As I have aged and went through life, I have been faced with difficulties that only God has brought me through. I have to thank Him daily for never leaving me when I was so lost and disobedient. He pulled me out of that life because He knew I could only get through what was coming my way with Him beside me. If you are struggling with your current lifestyle, struggling with the past, struggling to put one foot in front of the other because you feel like your world has been flipped upside down then you need to lay it down at the Cross. Jesus loves you know matter what you have done or will do. He will pull you out of the trenches. You have to let go and let Him take the wheel .
God, you love us. You really do. I see it written all in your Word. I see it in my life. Lord, you know the trials I have been dealt in my life. I have come out of them for one reason and one reason alone. That reason is YOU. You know my heart and you know exactly what you are calling me to do. Everything I have faced in life and will face will get me closer to living your purpose for my life. I thank you for always being with me. I thank you for saving me when I did not think I could be saved. I love you.
In Christ’s name I pray,
Amen
