The weather is cool. The Christmas tree is decorated and ready for presents to be placed underneath. The fireplace is burning and the smell of the holiday's is in the air. I love this time of the year. It brings back fond memories of time with my family, laughter, good cooking, and fun to be had by all. This time of the year always reminds me of pumpkin pie lol. I love pumpkin pie. The holiday's can come with an extra pound or two so I found it a must to find an alternative to my favorite sweet treat. I am saving the real piece of pie for Christmas day:) For now I will turn it into a healthy shake that will fuel my body with dense nutrients and will give me lasting natural energy. It is the best of both worlds. Pumpkin is known to aid in weight loss because it is packed with fiber which keeps you feeling full longer. Pumpkin can also help with restoring electrolytes in the body after a workout. Pumpkin can boost your immune system, protect your skin from free-radicals, and may reduce your risk of cancer. Pumpkin isn't the only ingredient with a lot of bang. Shakeolgy also does these same things and more. I could go on and on about the benefits of shakeology but I know you are ready for the recipe:) I will save that for the next blog.
Ingredients: 1 scoop of chocolate shakeology
A little less than 1/2 cup of pumpkin puree
A little less than 1/4 of whole grain steel oats
1 tablespoon of pumpkin pie spice
1 cup of coconut milk
Add water to make less thick. Blend with ice:)
