Purses just took on a new meaning for me. The other night I was at prayer time for the ministry I serve in called The Sunshine Girls. Before we started, we got on the subject of purses. I have always been a purse girl. It may have had something to do with the fact that my mom loved purses. Every year, she would get her a new Coach purse as well as my sister and I. We would go and pick them out together and she would wrap it and give it to us at Christmas. As I was on the way to work the next day, I could not help but think about that purse conversation. My purse has a lot of compartments and has an abundance of things in it. We were laughing at how much stuff is in my purse and how it is so hard to find things. It made me think about life. On the outside, everything looks so neat and pretty but on the inside everything is a hot mess. Does anyone feel me? Lol. I have this anxiety about not having what I need when I am out so my purse takes the brunt of it. It is so unorganized on the inside. This would demonstrate our feelings, our doubts, our lack of confidence, our daily to do's piling up, the laundry pile that has turned into a mountain. Life can get very packed and very overwhelming at times. On the outside it may look like we got everything under control but on the inside we are falling apart. So what must we do? We must clean out our purses ladies. Now we all know that these clean purses will only last for a week or two before the mess piles back up but in those few weeks it sure feels good to have everything neat and organized. In life, things will get crazy and we will feel overwhelmed. We must know that in all of this God is there with us. He is there to give us the confidence we need to conquer each day. He is there to clean out our lives. Whatever our need is, we can always count on Him. Take some time this weekend and clean out your purses as well as your lives. You will feel at peace once you release the clutter that is piling up in your purses and in your lives.
